THE REVIVAL SYSTEM
CLEAN with Rig Wash → REJUVENATE + PROTECT with Rig Revive → MAINTAIN with Rig Wash
Simple, effective care for the powdercoat that protects your rig.
IS YOUR POWDERCOAT READY FOR A REVIVAL?
Rig Revive rejuvenates and protects existing powdercoat, so the integrity of the original coating matters.
âś“ READY TO REVIVE
Generally suitable for powdercoat that is:
• Faded or sun damaged
• Dull or chalky
• Weathered or unevenly faded
• Still intact and firmly bonded to the surface
âš TEST FIRST
Heavily weathered, extremely chalky or previously treated surfaces should always be tested first.
Previous waxes, silicones, dressings, coatings or other treatments may affect the final result.
âś• REPAIR OR REFINISH
Rig Revive does not repair failed powdercoat.
Do not expect Rig Revive to repair:
• Peeling or flaking
• Lifting or blistering
• Significant corrosion
• Chips or physical damage
• Powdercoat that is no longer properly bonded
These surfaces may require repair, refinishing or replacement.
ALWAYS TEST FIRST
Clean the test area with Rig Wash, allow it to completely dry, then apply Rig Revive to a small, inconspicuous area.
Allow the test patch to fully dry and only proceed once you're satisfied with the compatibility and finish.
NOT SURE?
Send us clear photos before purchasing or applying the product and we'll help you determine whether Rig Revive may be suitable.
Faded doesn't always mean finished. It might just be ready for a Revival.
1. WASH
Thoroughly clean the surface with pH-neutral Rig Wash to remove dirt, grease, dust, salt and other contaminants.
Rinse thoroughly and allow the surface to completely dry.
2. CHECK THE SURFACE
The surface must be clean, completely dry and cool to touch.
Do not apply Rig Revive to a hot surface or in direct sunlight.
3. TEST FIRST
Apply a small amount of Rig Revive to an inconspicuous area and allow it to fully dry.
Check compatibility and finish before proceeding.
4. APPLY LIGHTLY & EVENLY
Apply a small amount of Rig Revive to a lint-free Rig Wipe or suitable applicator.
Work in manageable sections using light, even coats in one direction.
For large, flat surfaces, use an applicator pad rather than concentrated finger pressure through a wipe to help maintain even pressure.
Less is more. Do not overload the applicator or saturate the surface.
5. DON'T OVERWORK IT
Allow Rig Revive to naturally level and dry.
Do not rub, buff or repeatedly go back over areas once the product begins to dry. This can contribute to streaking or an uneven finish.
6. SECOND COAT
Allow approximately 1 hour between coats, depending on temperature, humidity and surrounding conditions.
The first coat must be dry before applying the second.
Avoid heat or forced drying.
AFTER APPLICATION
Rig Revive continues to harden and cure over the following few days, allowing that deep, lasting finish to develop.
LIGHT COATS. ONE DIRECTION. DON'T OVERWORK IT.
SURFACE INTEGRITY MATTERS
Rig Revive rejuvenates and protects the existing coating. It cannot repair failed or deteriorated powdercoat.
The final result can be influenced by the age, condition and integrity of the original coating, previous treatments, surface preparation, application technique and environmental conditions.
STREAKY OR UNEVEN FINISH?
Common factors include:
• Too much product
• Uneven application pressure
• Overworking the product as it dries
• Applying to a warm or hot surface
• Direct sunlight
• Contamination or previous treatments
• Uneven deterioration of the existing powdercoat
For large, flat surfaces, use an applicator pad to maintain even pressure.
DO NOT immediately apply more product. Allow the surface to fully dry before assessing the finish.
POWDERCOAT LOOKS DAMAGED?
Peeling, flaking, blistering, lifting or corrosion indicates deterioration of the existing coating.
Rig Revive cannot restore the structural integrity of failed powdercoat and may make pre-existing imperfections or variations more noticeable.
STOP IF YOU'RE UNSURE
If your test patch produces an unexpected result, do not continue with full application.
Revival Off-Road does not manufacture or apply the original powdercoat and cannot guarantee the condition, integrity or suitability of an existing coating.
Always assess your surface, follow the application instructions and test before full application.
NEED HELP?
Stop application and send us clear photos along with details of your preparation, applicator, conditions and number of coats before proceeding.
WHY DO I NEED RIG WASH?
Proper prep matters. Rig Wash is pH-neutral and removes dirt, salt, grime and contaminants before applying Rig Revive.
WHAT DOES RIG REVIVE DO?
Rejuvenates and protects faded, dull and weathered powdercoat. It does not repair damaged or failed powdercoat.
IS MY POWDERCOAT SUITABLE?
Faded but intact? Generally, yes.
Peeling, flaking, blistering, lifting or significantly corroded? No.
DO I REALLY NEED TO TEST FIRST?
Yes. Always. Clean, test a small inconspicuous area and allow it to fully dry before continuing.
CAN I APPLY RIG REVIVE IN THE SUN?
No. Apply to a clean, dry and cool surface out of direct sunlight.
HOW MUCH RIG REVIVE SHOULD I USE?
Less is more. Apply light, even coats. Do not saturate the surface.
WHAT SHOULD I APPLY IT WITH?
Use a lint-free Rig Wipe for smaller areas. For large, flat surfaces, use an applicator pad for even pressure.
WHY DOES MY FINISH LOOK STREAKY?
Too much product, uneven pressure, overworking, heat, contamination or poor surface condition can contribute to an uneven finish. Don't immediately apply more product.
HOW LONG BETWEEN COATS?
Approximately 1 hour, depending on temperature, humidity and surrounding conditions. The first coat must be dry.
HOW MANY COATS?
We recommend two light, even coats.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN MY POWDERCOAT?
Wash regularly with pH-neutral Rig Wash. For beach or coastal use, wash after every trip to remove salt, sand and contaminants.
Surfaces exposed to high UV, pollutants or harsh conditions should be cleaned and checked more frequently.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REAPPLY RIG REVIVE?
Rig Revive provides protection for up to 12 months. Reapplication depends on UV exposure, weather, use, maintenance and the condition of the original powdercoat.
MY POWDERCOAT IS OLD - WILL IT WORK?
Age isn't the deciding factor - integrity is. If you're unsure, test first or send us photos.
NOT SURE?
Stop and ask before you apply. It's much easier to help before you've coated the whole rig.
