BIG SURFACES NEED PROPER PROTECTION
The Big Rigs Powdercoat Protection Kit combines Rig Wash + Rig Revive in our larger 2L sizes for bigger jobs and greater surface coverage.
RIG WASH - CLEAN & PREP
Our pH-neutral wash removes dirt, salt, grime and contaminants while remaining gentle on your powdercoat.
Proper preparation is essential before applying Rig Revive and for ongoing maintenance afterwards.
RIG REVIVE - REJUVENATE & PROTECT
Our Australian-made, water-based and silicone-free powdercoat rejuvenator and protectant.
Rig Revive brings depth and colour back to suitable faded, dull and weathered powdercoat while providing ongoing protection against UV exposure and the elements for up to 12 months.
It can also be applied to suitable new powdercoat to help protect and maintain its appearance from day one.
RIG WIPES - APPLY
Pro-grade lint-free wipes designed for controlled application of Rig Revive to those intricate areas.
For large, flat surfaces, we recommend using an applicator pad rather than concentrated finger pressure through a wipe to help maintain even pressure and achieve a more consistent finish.
COVERAGE

THE SYSTEM IS SIMPLE
CLEAN with Rig Wash → REJUVENATE + PROTECT with Rig Revive → MAINTAIN with Rig Wash
More surface. More product. Same Revival.
IS YOUR POWDERCOAT READY FOR A REVIVAL?
Rig Revive is designed to rejuvenate and protect existing powdercoat. The condition and integrity of that coating matters.
✓ READY TO REVIVE
Generally suitable for powdercoat that is:
• Faded or sun damaged
• Dull or lacking colour
• Chalky or weathered
• Unevenly faded from UV exposure
• Still intact and firmly bonded
⚠ TEST FIRST
Always test first if the powdercoat is:
• Heavily weathered
• Extremely chalky
• Unevenly deteriorated
• Previously treated with unknown products
Previous waxes, silicones, dressings, coatings or other treatments may affect the final result.
✕ REPAIR OR REFINISH
Rig Revive cannot repair powdercoat that is:
• Peeling or flaking
• Lifting or blistering
• Significantly corroded
• Chipped or physically damaged
• No longer properly bonded
These surfaces may require repair, refinishing or replacement.
ALWAYS TEST BEFORE FULL APPLICATION
Clean the test area thoroughly with Rig Wash, allow it to completely dry, then apply Rig Revive to a small, inconspicuous area.
Allow the test patch to fully dry and only proceed once you're satisfied with the result.
NOT SURE?
Stop and ask before you apply. Send us clear photos of the surface and we'll help determine whether Rig Revive may be suitable.
Faded doesn't always mean finished. It might just be ready for a Revival.
SURFACE PREPARATION IS KEY
The final result starts with the prep.
Thoroughly wash the surface with pH-neutral Rig Wash to remove dirt, grease, salt, road grime and contaminants.
If the surface needs to be washed more than once - wash it again.
Rinse thoroughly and allow the surface to completely dry before applying Rig Revive.
Poor surface preparation can lead to poor application results, including streaking, patchiness or an uneven finish.
CHECK THE CONDITIONS
Before applying, make sure the surface is:
• Clean
• Completely dry
• Cool to touch
• Out of direct sunlight
Do not apply Rig Revive when the outside air temperature is below 10°C.
If temperatures are between 10–15°C, we recommend waiting for a warmer day where possible - ideally around 20°C.
Remember, the surface itself can be a different temperature to the surrounding air.
Temperature, humidity and weather conditions directly affect drying and curing times.
Do not apply if rain is imminent or the surface is likely to get wet during the drying period.
TEST FIRST
Always test Rig Revive on a small, inconspicuous area and allow it to fully dry before continuing.
Only proceed once you're satisfied with the test area.
WORK IN MANAGEABLE SECTIONS
When working on caravans, checker plate, canopies and other large surfaces, don't try to tackle the entire surface at once.
Work methodically in manageable sections so you can maintain consistent product coverage, pressure and application technique.
APPLY LIGHTLY & EVENLY
Apply a small amount of Rig Revive using a suitable applicator.
Apply a light, even coat in one direction.
For large, flat surfaces, use an applicator pad rather than concentrated finger pressure through a wipe to help maintain even pressure.
Less is more.
Avoid excess product or allowing product to build up and run down vertical surfaces.
DON'T OVERWORK IT
Once Rig Revive begins to dry, leave it alone.
Do not rub, buff or repeatedly go back over the area. Overworking can contribute to streaking, patchiness or an uneven finish.
If you've missed an area, allow the coat to fully dry before correcting it.
ALLOW IT TO DRY
Drying time is weather dependent and will vary with temperature, humidity and surrounding conditions.
As a general guide, allow approximately 1 hour or more between coats in suitable conditions.
In cooler conditions below 15°C, allow approximately 2 hours or longer between coats.
Always judge the surface - not just the clock.
If the first coat still feels tacky, it is not dry. DO NOT apply the second coat.
Wait until the first coat is completely dry before continuing.
ALLOW IT TO CURE
Rig Revive continues to harden after application.
Depending on environmental conditions, it will generally take around 1–2 days to develop full hardness. In cooler conditions, the curing process may take up to 7 days.
Avoid unnecessary exposure to water, harsh cleaners or chemicals while the coating is curing.
REMEMBER
PREP PROPERLY. CHECK THE WEATHER. WORK IN SECTIONS. LIGHT COATS. LET IT DRY. DON'T OVERWORK IT.
SURFACE PREPARATION IS KEY
Rig Revive is designed to rejuvenate and protect existing powdercoat. The final result depends on the condition of that coating, surface preparation, application technique and environmental conditions.
Poor surface preparation can lead to poor application results.
If the surface needs to be washed more than once - wash it again.
MY FINISH LOOKS STREAKY OR UNEVEN
Common causes include:
• Too much product
• Uneven or excessive pressure
• Overworking the product as it dries
• Using concentrated finger pressure on large, flat surfaces
• Poor surface preparation
• Contamination or previous treatments
• Applying to a warm or hot surface
• Direct sunlight
• Cold or unsuitable weather conditions
• Attempting to cover too large an area at once
• Uneven deterioration of the existing powdercoat
For large, flat surfaces, use an applicator pad to help maintain consistent pressure and product distribution.
Allow the product to completely dry before assessing the finish.
Do not immediately apply more product to try to correct it.
I HAVE RUNS OR DRIPS
Runs generally indicate too much product has been applied.
Rig Revive should be applied in light, even coats. Avoid overloading your applicator or allowing excess product to build up and run down vertical surfaces.
MY FINISH LOOKS PATCHY
Patchiness can be caused by:
• Poor or uneven surface preparation
• Uneven application
• Too much product in some areas
• Going back over partially dried product
• Different temperatures across the surface
• Previous products or contamination
• Variations in the existing powdercoat
Remember, different sections of the same surface can have different levels of UV exposure, weathering and deterioration.
Allow the surface to fully dry before assessing the result.
IT'S STILL TACKY
If it's tacky, it's not dry.
DO NOT apply the second coat.
Drying time is weather dependent and will vary with temperature, humidity and surrounding conditions.
In suitable conditions, allow approximately 1 hour or more between coats.
Below 15°C, allow approximately 2 hours or longer.
Always judge the surface - not just the clock.
Do not apply Rig Revive below 10°C.
THE POWDERCOAT LOOKS DAMAGED
Faded powdercoat and failed powdercoat are not the same thing.
Rig Revive cannot repair peeling, flaking, lifting, blistering, corrosion, cracking or powdercoat that is no longer properly bonded.
Rejuvenating an aged or weathered surface may make pre-existing imperfections, deterioration or variations more noticeable.
These surfaces may require professional repair, refinishing or replacement.
THE FINISH LOOKS DIFFERENT ACROSS THE SURFACE
Powdercoat doesn't always deteriorate evenly.
UV exposure, weather, age, previous treatments, contaminants and the condition of the original coating can cause different areas to respond differently.
Rig Revive rejuvenates what is already there. It cannot correct deterioration or failure within the original coating.
This is why testing first is essential.
NEED TO CORRECT AN APPLICATION?
Stop before adding more product.
Allow the surface to fully dry before attempting to correct the finish.
Do not immediately apply additional coats or use solvents or chemicals without first determining what has caused the issue.
Contact Revival Off-Road with clear photos and details of:
• Surface condition
• How the surface was prepared
• Previous products used
• Applicator used
• Temperature and weather conditions

• Drying time between coats
We'll help determine the best next step.
SURFACE INTEGRITY MATTERS
Revival Off-Road does not manufacture or apply the original powdercoat and cannot guarantee the condition, integrity or suitability of an existing coating.
The person applying Rig Revive is responsible for assessing the surface, following the application instructions and completing a test patch before full application.
